Wesley Matthews scored six of his 24 points in overtime as Portland ensured itself of no worse than the No. 5 seed in the playoffs by outlasting visiting Golden State.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 26 points and Nicolas Batum added 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for the Trail Blazers, who pulled within a half-game of Houston for the No. 4 spot. Mo Williams scored 18 points off the bench and Robin Lopez contributed 16 points and seven boards for Portland.

Stephen Curry hit seven 3-pointers en route to a season-high 47 points and Klay Thompson scored all 25 of his points after the break for the Warriors. Andre Iguodala chipped in 15 points but missed a game-winning 3-point attempt in overtime as Golden State dipped a half-game ahead of the Dallas Mavericks in the race for the No. 6 spot.

The Trail Blazers held a 105-102 advantage with 12 seconds left in regulation after Matthews hit a pair of free throws but the Warriors came right back without calling a timeout and Curry found Draymond Green for a tying 3-pointer with 3.9 seconds remaining to force overtime. There were six lead changes in the extra period, with the last coming when Aldridge knocked down a jumper to give Portland a 118-117 edge with 39.9 seconds left.

Matthews hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 17-4 surge to put the Blazers on top by five late in the third before they settled for a 76-75 edge heading into the fourth. Williams’ three-point play with 8:22 left gave Portland a 90-79 lead before Curry hit three 3-pointers and Thompson added another on four straight possessions to kick off a 16-5 burst that knotted it at 95 with 4:54 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Curry’s 47 points tied the second-highest total of his career and marked the sixth time in his career he has reached at least 40 (three this season). … The Warriors went 17-of-37 from 3-point range, led by Curry (7-of-14) and Thompson (6-of-10). … Portland has one game left in the season - hosting the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday - while the Warriors finish the regular season with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.
