Pacers 102, Thunder 97: David West scored 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Paul George had 20 points and 12 rebounds as Indiana upended visiting Oklahoma City.

Lance Stephenson recorded his fifth career triple-double with 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds as the Pacers moved a half-game ahead of the Miami Heat for the best record in the Eastern Conference. C.J. Watson scored a season-high 20 points as Indiana overcame 23 turnovers to win for only the third time in the last nine games.

Kevin Durant scored 38 points and Russell Westbrook added 21 for the Thunder, who had a three-game winning streak halted and missed a chance to clinch the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. Durant had a tying 3-point shot rejected by West with 57 seconds left, Stephenson answered with a 3-pointer and Oklahoma City’s final push came up short.

Indiana possessed an 11-point lead after Watson’s 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter and remained ahead until the Thunder rolled off seven straight points and tied the game at 89 on Westbrook’s 3-pointer with 2:46 remaining. George put the Pacers back ahead with a 3-pointer with 2:09 left and Indiana led by seven with 22.4 seconds remaining but Serge Ibaka and Durant hit 3-pointers to cut the margin to two with 9.5 seconds left before West made two free throws and Watson added one to seal it.

Durant scored 19 first-half points but Oklahoma City missed all nine of its 3-point attempts as the Pacers held a 47-45 lead. The Thunder trailed by one 5 1/2 minutes into the third quarter before Indiana controlled the rest of the period and took a 74-66 lead into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Indiana posted a 46-32 advantage on the boards. … Thunder F Nick Collison took an elbow to the nose from Pacers C Ian Mahinmi in the second quarter and had eight stitches to plug up the wound and Oklahoma City G Reggie Jackson left in the fourth quarter and underwent precautionary X-rays on his neck. … Pacers C Roy Hibbert continued his recent decline by going scoreless and missing all nine of his shots.
