Jeff Green scored 27 points and Paul Pierce recorded a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists as Boston picked up its second straight win and drew a game closer to visiting Atlanta in the Eastern Conference standings.

Jason Terry added 24 points off the bench and Shavlik Randolph matched a career high with 13 rebounds for the Celtics, who pulled to within 1 1/2 games of the Hawks for the No. 6 spot in the East and moved 2 1/2 in front of eighth-place Milwaukee.

Mike Scott scored a career-high 19 points and Josh Smith had 18 as the Hawks closed out a 2-2 road trip. Al Horford (illness) sat out for Atlanta, which had clinched its playoff spot on Wednesday.

Boston shot 56.8 percent in the first half to grab a 66-56 lead at the break. Green’s 3-pointer with 3:47 left in the third stretched it out to 83-68 before the Hawks trimmed the deficit to 92-80 heading into the fourth.

Kyle Korver’s basket cut it to 100-94 with 6:58 left, but Terry highlighted a 7-0 burst with a 3-pointer and the Celtics pushed it back out to double figures to coast to the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hawks rookie G John Jenkins suffered a concussion by running into a screen set by Pierce in the first half and did not return. … The Celtics’ 66 points in the first half marked their most in any half this season. … The triple-double was the third of the season and 10th of his career for Pierce.
