Nets 108, Hornets 98: Brook Lopez scored 26 points and Deron Williams added 21 and 13 assists as host Brooklyn won for the fourth time in five games.

Andray Blatche had 18 points and MarShon Brooks contributed 14 as the Nets survived the absence of third-leading scorer Joe Johnson, who sat with a sore left heel. New Orleans was without leading scorer Ryan Anderson, who was sidelined by an illness.

Eric Gordon led the Hornets with 24 points. Greivis Vasquez had 15 points and 14 assists and rookie Anthony Davis chipped in 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks as New Orleans fell for the ninth time in its last 12 games.

Brooklyn led by as many as 13 points in the first quarter but allowed the Hornets to crawl back, stay close and eventually tie the game at 78 when Roger Mason Jr. scored five points in 11 seconds late in the third quarter.

Blatche scored at the buzzer to give the Nets a two-point lead entering the fourth, and the hosts opened the final frame with a 12-3 run capped by a Brooks layup that made it 92-81 with 8:14 left. New Orleans never got closer than seven down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Johnson missed the final three games of February with the same injury. ... The Nets have four days off before hosting Atlanta on Sunday ... F Lance Thomas made all four of his field-goal attempts and all four of his free throws in scoring 12 points in 18 minutes off the Hornets bench.
