Nets 95, Wizards 78: Deron Williams made an NBA-record nine 3-pointers in the first half and finished with a team-record 11 as host Brooklyn rolled past Washington.

Williams scored a season-high 42 points, all but nine of which came in the first half. Reggie Evans had 11 points and a season-high 24 rebounds as the Nets pulled within 2 1/2 games of idle New York in the race for the Atlantic Division title.

John Wall scored 16 to lead the Wizards, who have lost four of five since a 7-2 stretch.

Williams hit his first six 3-pointers in a span of three-plus minutes early in the first quarter to give the Nets an astounding 22-2 lead. The three-time All-Star sank his seventh 3-pointer of the quarter to put Brooklyn ahead 31-9, tied the NBA mark for 3s in a half with his eighth midway through the second and established the new mark with his ninth 67 seconds before halftime.

Williams had as many points (33) as the Wizards at the break, and waited just 34 seconds into the third quarter before hitting his 10th 3-pointer, setting a new Nets record and making it 62-35. Washington rallied to within 13 points in the fourth, but Williams had a 19-footer and his final 3 down the stretch to seal it.
