Warriors 87, Kings 83: Klay Thompson hit a go-ahead 3-pointer in the final seconds and finished with 20 points as Golden State edged visiting Sacramento.

David Lee collected 17 points and 10 rebounds, Harrison Barnes scored 14 points and Stephen Curry had 13 and eight assists for the Warriors, who have taken the first two of a seven-game homestand.

Jason Thompson scored 17 points and Patrick Patterson had 15 off the bench as the Kings fell to 6-28 on the road.

Andrew Bogut grabbed a rebound with 15 seconds left and Golden State called timeout to set up the final play. Lee found Thompson in the corner and the second-year guard buried his fourth 3-pointer of the night with seven seconds left to give the Warriors an 85-83 lead.

Golden State came out strong and hit five 3-pointers in the first quarter to jump out to a 28-21 lead. But the Warriors lost their shooting stroke in the second, going 5-for-19 from the field in the period as Sacramento stormed back to take a 44-41 lead into the break.

Things started to turn around for Golden State in the third quarter, and it used a 9-0 run to take the lead back for good. Thompson hit a 3-pointer during the spurt and Festus Ezeli capped the burst with a traditional three-point play for a 65-56 lead before the Warriors settled for a 69-63 edge heading into the final period.

Sacramento chipped away in the fourth and drew within 79-78 on Jason Thompson’s jumper with 3:55 left. Curry responded with a 3-pointer but Thompson hit another jumper and Patterson buried a 3-pointer to put the Kings back on top 83-82 with 1:24 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Warriors improved to 20-7 at home. They will continue their homestand against Houston on Friday to begin a run of four playoff contenders in the next five games. … Lee’s double-double was his NBA-best 41st of the season. … The Kings, who entered the night with the worst scoring defense in the NBA, held an opponent under 90 points for the second time in the last 15 games.
