Hornets 100, Pistons 95: Greivis Vasquez had 25 points, nine assists and no turnovers to lead host New Orleans to a win over Detroit.

Eric Gordon scored 21 points and Ryan Anderson added 19 and a season high-tying 13 rebounds for the Hornets, including a big layup with 61 seconds left.

Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 27 points and 10 boards. Brandon Knight contributed 22 points.

Neither team led by more than five points from early in the second quarter until Robin Lopez's layup with 5:07 remaining gave New Orleans an 89-82 lead. Knight scored seven points and Monroe had a dunk in an 11-2 Pistons burst that gave the visitors a lead with less than two minutes left.

Vasquez hit a pair of free throws and then assisted on Anderson's layup that put the Hornets ahead 96-93, but Jason Maxiell got Detroit within one on a dunk with 52 seconds to go. After the Hornets won a big jump ball with 32 seconds left, Vasquez hit a runner and Rodney Stuckey missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with four ticks remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Orleans took 31 free throws to Detroit's 16. ... Hornets F Al-Farouq Aminu, who won the critical jump ball in the final minute, had a game-high 14 rebounds. ... Pistons G Jose Calderon had 11 assists after recording 18 in a win over Washington on Wednesday.
