Hornets 98, Trail Blazers 96: Ryan Anderson had 20 points and 13 rebounds and converted a game-winning three-point play with 1.8 seconds left to lift host New Orleans.

Greivis Vasquez also scored 20 points and rookie Anthony Davis added 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Hornets withstood a flurry of 3-pointers by Portland to snap a three-game losing streak.

Wesley Matthews scored 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and rookie Damian Lillard had 20 points to rally the Trail Blazers, who dropped three games back of the Los Angeles Lakers for the final playoff slot from the Western Conference.

New Orleans, which blew a 14-point, fourth-quarter lead against the Lakers last week, got 3-pointers from Darius Miller, Anderson and Vasquez to take an 87-77 lead with 6:52 left.

Matthews buried three straight 3-pointers as Portland rallied to take a one-point lead, but Anderson drilled a 3 with 15.6 seconds left for a 95-93 lead. Lillard answered from behind the arc four seconds later before Vasquez set up Anderson underneath for the deciding three-point play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hornets rookie Brian Roberts had nine points and nine assists in his first career start. ... Matthews finished 6-of-11 from behind the arc and the Trail Blazers nailed seven 3-pointers in the fourth to finish 11-of-25 for the game. ... New Orleans was 11-of-20 from 3-point range and overpowered Portland on the backboards 48-30.
