Nets 91, Timberwolves 83: Brook Lopez scored 22 points to help visiting Brooklyn win in Minneapolis for the first time in more than 10 years.

Deron Williams and Joe Johnson had 18 points apiece as the Nets improved to 10-1 in their last 11 and ended an eight-game losing streak in Minnesota dating to November 2002.

Andrei Kirilenko scored 15 points and Dante Cunningham added 14 for the injury-riddled Timberwolves, who lost for the seventh time in their last eight games.

The Nets scored the game's first nine points and jumped out to a 14-2 lead en route to a 24-17 edge after one quarter and 53-42 lead at halftime. But Minnesota cut an 11-point lead to six at the end of three quarters and got within two points early in the fourth.

C.J. Watson (14 points) scored seven in a row to build the lead to 77-68 before the Timberwolves closed to 82-77 on J.J. Barea's 3-pointer with just over 2 1/2 minutes to play. Williams stemmed the comeback when he buried a 3-pointer with 1:15 to play that made it 89-79.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lopez had 10 points in the first quarter and shot 10-of-16 in exploiting the absence of injured Timberwolves big men Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic. ... Minnesota F Chris Johnson, who was signed to a 10-day contract last Saturday, had 12 points, six rebounds and three blocks off the bench. ... Brooklyn improved to 12-2 since P.J. Carlesimo replaced fired coach Avery Johnson.
