Celtics 93, Heat 91 (OT): Rajon Rondo hit the go-ahead basket in overtime and Miami’s Dwyane Wade missed a last-second 3-point attempt as host Boston evened the Eastern Conference finals at 2-2.

Rondo’s running flip shot gave Boston a 92-91 lead with 2:32 left in overtime and he hit one of two free throws with 21.4 seconds remaining. With LeBron James on the bench after fouling out, Wade got himself open with a good head-fake on Marquis Daniels but his game-winning attempt bounced off the rim.

James scored a game-high 29 points for Miami and Paul Pierce led Boston with 23 points.

Game 5 of the best-of-7 series is Tuesday in Miami.

The Heat recovered from an 18-point first-half deficit to force overtime on a 3-pointer by James with 37.5 seconds left.

Kevin Garnett had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Ray Allen scored 16 points and made four 3-pointers and Rondo had 15 points and 15 assists for the Celtics.

Wade scored 20 points and Udonis Haslem had 12 points and 17 rebounds for Miami.

The Heat trailed 58-40 late in the first half and still trailed by a dozen with under three minutes to play in the third quarter before going on a 15-1 run and finally overtaking the Celtics at 76-74 on a driving basket by Norris Cole with 8:22 to play.

Boston had a three-point lead after Garnett’s basket with 52.4 seconds left in regulation before James hit the big 3-pointer.

Pierce fouled out 38 seconds into overtime and James joined him on the sidelined when called for his sixth foul with 1:51 left.

The Celtics scored the first six points of the game and were up 21-6 before the game was even seven minutes old. Boston’s lead was 34-23 after the first quarter and it reached 18 points on Pierce’s three-point play with 2:38 left in the half. Boston led 61-47 at intermission.
