BUCKS 116, TRAIL BLAZERS 87: Drew Gooden led six players in double figures with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting as visiting Milwaukee extended its longest winning streak in two years to six games.

Monta Ellis collected 14 points and nine assists in his second game with the Bucks and Carlos Delfino hit four 3-pointers en route to 16 points.

Milwaukee, which had not won six straight since March 2010, moved back within one-half game of the New York Knicks for the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference.

Trail Blazers interim coach Kaleb Canales was making his home debut and did not have much of a chance to make a good impression.

The Bucks dominated on both ends, shooting 57.8 percent from the floor while holding Portland to 35.4 percent and sending the Trail Blazers to their ninth loss in the last 12 games.

Milwaukee outscored the Blazers in every quarter and took over in the second, beginning the period with a 17-6 run to push the lead to double digits.

Delfino hit three 3-pointers during the spurt and scored 11 in the frame as the Bucks took a 54-43 lead into the break.

A 13-0 run in through the middle of the third quarter included three more 3-pointers and pushed the lead to 22 points.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Wesley Matthews scored 21 points apiece to lead Portland, which dropped 3½ games out of the No. 8 spot in the West.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Milwaukee is averaging 113.3 points during its winning streak. … The Bucks handed out 35 assists on 48 field goals.
