Rookie John Wall had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists in a scintillating all-around performance to guide the Washington Wizards to a 98-91 victory over the visiting Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

In addition to his first career triple-double, Wall had six steals and committed just one turnover as the Wizards improved to 2-4.

Kevin Martin scored 31 points for Houston (1-6). Luis Scola added 24 points.

The Rockets not only lost the game but also may be without center Yao Ming when they visit Indiana on Friday.

Already limited to 24 minutes per game, Yao injured his left leg midway through the first quarter and did not return. Yao missed all of last season with a broken left foot.

Washington’s Andray Blatche had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Al Thornton added 20 points. Yi Jianlian contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots.

Rookie Ishmael Smith added 12 points for Houston.
