Pau Gasol scored 14 of his 28 points in the first 6 ½ minutes as the Los Angeles Lakers continued a successful road trip by rolling to a 109-94 victory over the stumbling Indiana Pacers Wednesday.

Kobe Bryant finished with 31 points and six assists for the Lakers, who are 4-1 on their season-high seven-game road trip.

Gasol, who was outplayed by Roy Hibbert in the first meeting this season, helped the Lakers to a 26-10 lead with his splurge. Los Angeles led by 14 heading to the second period and pushed the bulge to 59-37 at the break.

Gasol scored seven more in the second quarter and was 9-of-11 shooting in the first half as the Lakers shot 61 percent (25-of-41) in the half and cruised thereafter. He finished with eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Indiana beat Los Angeles, 95-92, on Nov. 28 behind Hibbert’s team highs of 24 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. But he had just 12 points and six rebounds in this one.

Andrew Bynum had three points and five rebounds in 18 minutes in his second game back from knee surgery as Los Angeles improved to 4-1 on the second of back-to-backs. The Lakers cruised past Washington, 103-89, on Tuesday.

Darren Collison scored 17 points and Brandon Rush added 16 for the Pacers, who have dropped six of eight since starting 9-7.
