Derrick Rose forced overtime with a buzzer-beating 3-point basket and scored the go-ahead points in the extra session as the Chicago Bulls notched a 119-116 victory over the visiting Houston Rockets on Saturday.

Rose had 30 points, 11 assists and five steals and scored the layup that gave the Bulls (10-8) a 118-116 lead with 1:17 remaining in overtime.

Houston (7-13) had an opportunity to force a second overtime but Brad Miller’s last-second 3-point basket didn’t draw iron.

Chicago’s Carlos Boozer had 25 points and nine rebounds in his third outing of the season since returning from a broken hand.

Luis Scola scored 27 points and Miller had 20 points for Houston.

The Rockets rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit and appeared ready to claim a road victory until Rose nailed the clutch 3-point hoop over two charging defenders at the end of regulation.

Luol Deng had 15 points, Joakim Noah had 13 points and 12 rebounds and Kyle Korver scored 13 points for Chicago.

Kyle Lowry added 16 points for the Rockets.

Chicago led 56-44 at halftime.
