Rookie Ed Davis had season highs of 17 points and 12 rebounds and the Toronto Raptors took advantage of Dirk Nowitzki’s absence to notch a stunning 84-76 victory over the host Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.

Nowitzki missed the contest with a sprained right knee and Toronto (11-20) snapped Dallas’ five-game winning streak. Nowitzki suffered the injury in Monday’s win at Oklahoma City.

The Raptors were shorthanded as well with injuries to three starters - leading scorer Andrea Bargnani (calf), point guard Jose Calderon (toe) and forward Sonny Weems (back spasms).

In addition, Linas Kleiza added 16 points before being ejected and Jerryd Bayless left with a sprained ankle in the fourth quarter for the Raptors, who ended a three-game losing streak and won in Dallas for the first time since Dec. 30, 1999.

Toronto seized control with an 8-0 spurt capped by Davis’ basket for a 79-68 advantage with 3:47 remaining.

DeMar DeRozan had 16 points and Amir Johnson and Leandro Barbosa tallied 12 apiece for Toronto.

Jason Terry had 18 points and six assists for Dallas (24-6). Caron Butler scored 15 points and Shawn Marion added 12.
