Thunder 119, Hornets 74: Russell Westbrook scored 18 of his game-high 29 points in the first quarter and Oklahoma City won its third straight with a dominant effort against visiting New Orleans.

Kevin Durant recorded his third triple-double of the season with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the Thunder, which led 62-45 at the half and cruised to the victory after outscoring the Hornets 34-15 in the third quarter. The win was Oklahoma City’s eighth straight against New Orleans.

The Hornets were outrebounded 48-25 in losing for the fifth time in their last six games. Ryan Anderson scored a team-high 14 points, but Robin Lopez and Greivis Vasquez combined for only 13 points on 5-of-23 shooting.

Five players scored in double digits for Oklahoma City, which matched its largest margin of victory at 45 points and improved to 26-4 at home. The Thunder have bounced back from a three-game losing streak by winning their last three games by an average of 30.3 points.

The Hornets, who played without rookie forward Anthony Davis and leading scorer Eric Gordon, shot 35.1 percent from the field and were outscored 52-34 in the paint. Davis sat out with a sprained left shoulder suffered Tuesday against Brooklyn while Gordon was rested as a precaution while recovering from a knee injury.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Thunder have won 18 straight at home against Western Conference opponents, scoring at least 106 points in each of the last 12. … Ronnie Brewer and Derek Fisher each made their Oklahoma City debut and finished with a combined five points. … Reggie Jackson and Kevin Martin scored 14 points apiece for the Thunder, who made 27 of their 28 attempts from the foul line
