Spurs 104, Timberwolves 94: Danny Green scored 14 of his 28 points in the final quarter and made a career-high eight 3-pointers as visiting San Antonio won its 11th straight game.

Tony Parker had a game-high 31 points and Kawhi Leonard added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs, who were without veterans Tim Duncan (knee) and Manu Ginobili (hamstring) for the opener of the nine-game rodeo road trip.

Nikola Pekovic had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Derrick Williams had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Ricky Rubio dished out 11 assists for the Timberwolves, who have lost 13 of their last 15 games.

Green connected on four 3-pointers in the final quarter. He scored all 11 San Antonio points during an 11-2 surge that saw the Spurs take an 88-81 lead with 4:07 to play. Minnesota pulled within three but Leonard’s dunk and back-to-back baskets by Parker put the game away as San Antonio defeated Minnesota for the 19th time in the last 21 games.

Parker had 15 first-half points as San Antonio led 47-41 at the break. Minnesota rallied to take a 64-63 lead on a free throw by Rubio before the Spurs scored five straight points to take a four-point edge into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
San Antonio is 17-9 on the road. The Spurs went 8-1 on last season’s rodeo road trip. … J.J. Barea added 15 points off the bench for the Timberwolves. … Both teams were solid from the free-throw line – San Antonio was 20 of 21 and Minnesota was 20 for 23.
