Heat 114, Rockets 108:
LeBron James scored 32 points and Dwyane Wade had 31 as Miami cooled off visiting Houston.

Shane Battier added 12 points and Norris Cole had 10 off the bench for the Heat, who were without All-Star forward Chris Bosh due to an illness.

James Harden collected 36 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Rockets struggled to follow Tuesday’s historic performance. Houston matched an NBA record with 23 3-pointer in a 140-109 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

The Rockets went 9-for-25 from 3-point range against the Heat, including three in the fourth quarter from Harden. The last of those drew Houston within 109-106 with 1:10 left, but a pair of turnovers in the final 46 seconds and four straight free throws from Wade kept it from closing the gap completely.

James, who went 13-of-14 from the floor in his last game, was 7-of-9 in the first half against the Rockets to help Miami take a 63-56 lead into the break. The All-Star forward hit three 3-pointers during a 14-4 run to begin the third quarter and the Heat never trailed.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Udonis Haslem pulled down 13 boards for Miami, which was edged on the glass 39-38. … James finished 11-of-18 from the floor and is shooting 63.9 percent in the last five games. … Omer Asik recorded 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets to mark his fourth straight double-double.
