Nathaniel Lowe had three hits, including a solo home run, to help the Texas Rangers to a 4-3 win against the Colorado Rockies in the second game of their three-game series on Tuesday night in Arlington, Texas.

Leody Taveras also homered for the Rangers, who have won three in a row.

Rangers right-hander Jordan Lyles (7-11) bounced back from his worst outing of the season and allowed three runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked one.

Spencer Patton pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save.

Lyles, who allowed a season-high eight runs along with nine hits in 3 2/3 innings of a 10-6 loss at the Cleveland Indians on Thursday, surrendered three home runs to the Rockies and has allowed a major-league-leading 36 on the season.

Sam Hilliard, C.J. Cron and Ryan McMahon homered for the Rockies.

Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber (9-9) was stung by six walks in 4 1/3 innings. He gave up four runs and four hits while striking out two.

Cron hit his 11th home run in August and drove in his MLB-leading 34th run to make it 4-2 in the seventh inning. Cron has also reached base in 25 straight games.

McMahon followed with another solo homer to trim the lead to 4-3.

Brett Martin got Cron to ground out with the tying run on second to end the eighth.

Lowe lifted Gomber's first pitch of the second inning over the fence in left for a 1-0 lead for his 14th homer of the season.

Hilliard hit an opposite-field home run that barely cleared the glove of leaping left fielder DJ Peters, tying the score at 1-1.

Gomber went four straight starts without walking a batter in June, but issued back-to-back walks with two outs in the third after getting ahead of both batters.

Lowe followed with an RBI single on another first-pitch swing to make it 2-1.

Taveras led off the fourth with a homer to left-center field for a 3-1 lead.

Gomber walked the leadoff batter in the fifth and was lifted after giving up a one-out infield single to Lowe, putting runners on the corners. Yency Almonte entered and gave up a run-scoring groundout to Nick Solak to make it 4-1.
