Luis Torrens doubled, homered and drove in five runs as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Toronto Blue Jays 9-3 Saturday night.

Ty France and Jarred Kelenic also went deep for the Mariners, who won their fourth consecutive game.

Right-hander Keynan Middleton (1-2) pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the victory.

Teoscar Hernandez had three hits, including a double and home run, and two RBIs for the Blue Jays, who lost their third in a row.

Toronto left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu (11-6) appeared on his way to tying Oakland's Chris Bassitt for the American League lead with his 12th victory before running into trouble in the seventh.

With the Blue Jays leading 3-2, France led off the bottom of the inning with a drive high off the wall in right-center field that just eluded a leaping George Springer. The center fielder came down awkwardly on his left ankle and had to leave the game. Ryu got Kyle Seager to ground out to short before walking Abraham Toro. Right-hander Trevor Richards came on and allowed a homer by Torrens on a 3-1 count and Kelenic followed with a solo shot.

Torrens added a two-run double in the eighth as the Mariners scored three more times to pull away.

France hit a two-run shot in the first to put Seattle ahead.

The Mariners wouldn't have another baserunner against Ryu until the sixth, when Jake Fraley led off with a single before being erased when J.P. Crawford grounded into a double play.

The Blue Jays pulled within 2-1 with one out in the second as Hernandez hit a solo shot to right-center field off Mariners left-hander Yusei Kikuchi.

Toronto tied it in the third as Hernandez hit a run-scoring single to center after Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled and Bo Bichette walked.

In the fifth, Guerrero led off with a single before being forced out at second on Bichette's grounder. Hernandez doubled to right field to send Bichette to third and he scored on Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s groundout to give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead.

Ryu was charged with four runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings. Kikuchi gave up three runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings.
