Kyle Higashioka hit a game-tying double as a pinch hitter and scored the go-ahead run on a double play as the host New York Yankees rallied to a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday afternoon.

The surging Yankees won their fifth in a row and 10th in their last 12 games since dropping three of four in Boston on July 22-25.

After getting a three-run homer from Joey Gallo Thursday and a game-winning hit by Brett Gardner in the 11th inning the following night, the Yankees rallied with a four-run sixth on Saturday.

Higashioka gave the Yankees a 5-4 lead following a double play by Anthony Rizzo, who hit a ground ball off Casey Sadler to first baseman Ty France. France stepped on the bag but ignored Higashioka as DJ LeMahieu stopped in between first and second to force a rundown. The run counted before shortstop Dylan Moore tagged LeMahieu.

Higashioka's tying hit and alert baserunning occurred after pinch hitter Gleyber Torres reached on right fielder Mitch Haniger's three-base error.

Haniger misplayed Torres' flyball off Anthony Misiewicz (3-4) into an error. Haniger raced backwards and appeared to overrun the ball and when he slipped on the dirt.

New York left-hander Andrew Heaney (7-8) settled down nicely after a shaky start and allowed four runs on four hits in six innings. He struck out nine, walked three and retired 13 of the final 15 hitters he faced.

Clay Holmes followed Heaney by getting the next four outs and Joely Rodriguez got the final two outs of the eighth. Jonathan Loaisiga pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.

Aaron Judge homered in the first inning and Rougned Odor started New York's sixth-inning uprising with a two-run homer off Chris Flexen.

Kyle Seager hit a two-run homer four batters into the game, and the Mariners added two more runs in the second on Abraham Toro's bases-loaded walk and Haniger's sacrifice fly.

Flexen allowed three runs on eight hits in five-plus innings.
