Right-hander Tyler Glasnow made a successful return from a nearly four-month absence and Avisail Garcia supported him and five Tampa Bay relievers with two doubles and a home run Sunday afternoon, lifting the Rays to an 8-3 win over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays.

Austin Meadows also homered for the Rays, his 28th of the season, as Tampa Bay completed a four-game sweep with a fifth straight win overall to remain in the top spot of the American League wild card race.

Glasnow, out with a forearm strain since May 10, pitched the first two innings of the win, allowing a two-run homer to Randal Grichuk in the second inning but no other hits. He struck out five and walked two in his 41-pitch cameo.

Even after Meadows' home run in the first inning off Toronto starter Jacob Waguespack, the Rays trailed 2-1 when Glasnow left the game after the top of the second.

However, Tampa Bay quickly took the lead for good on a two-run triple by Daniel Robertson in the last of the second, then began to pull away with a three-run fifth that featured RBI doubles by Garcia and Travis d'Arnaud.

Waguespack (4-4) was pulled in the fifth, charged with six runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out two.

Garcia's homer, his 19th of the season, capped Tampa Bay's scoring in the seventh. The two-run shot increased the Rays' lead to 8-2.

Trevor Richards (2-0), who took over for Glasnow to start the third inning, was credited with the win. He pitched 2 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing one hit, while striking out two.

The Tampa Bay bullpen combined for seven innings of one-run ball, limiting the Blue Jays to five hits.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. completed the game's scoring with an RBI single in the ninth inning for the Blue Jays, who lost their seventh straight.

Garcia had three RBIs and Meadows scored three times for the Rays, who wrapped up a 9-1 homestand.
