Trevor Bauer notched his first win since April 30 with the first complete-game shutout of his career, rookie Oscar Mercado drove in a career-high four runs and the Cleveland Indians cruised past the host Detroit Tigers 8-0 on Sunday.

Bauer (5-6) allowed just four hits and walked none while striking out eight as the Indians swept the three-game series. His last complete-game victory was June 22, 2016.

Cleveland has won five of six games from its Central Division rival this season. The Indians have won six of their last eight outings overall to move four games above .500.

Mercado had three hits, scored a run and stole a base. Jason Kipnis also had three hits, including his third homer this season, and knocked in three runs. Tyler Naquin added a double, run scored and an RBI.

Jake Bauers and Roberto Perez each contributed two hits for the Indians. Bauers hit for the cycle in the series opener on Friday.

Tigers starter Spencer Turnbull (3-6) allowed six runs on 10 hits in five innings. Detroit has lost four in a row and dropped 11 of its last 14 games.

The Indians pushed across a run in the first. After Turnbull retired the first two batters, Carlos Santana and Kipnis hit back-to-back doubles.

Francisco Lindor sparked Cleveland's three-run third with a one-out double. With Lindor on the move, Mercado singled in the hole and Lindor came around to score. One out later, Kipnis drilled a homer to right field to make it 4-0.

Cleveland tacked on two runs in the fourth. Bauers and Perez reached on infield singles but Bauers was thrown out at third. Naquin's double moved Perez to third. After a strikeout and an intentional pass, Mercado smacked a single to right to bring in Perez and Naquin.

Mercado's two-out double in the sixth knocked in Leonys Martin with Cleveland's seventh run. Naquin made it 8-0 with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the eighth. That brought home Jose Ramirez, who reached on a one-out walk and moved to third on two singles.
