Austin Hedges hit his first career grand slam, Hunter Renfroe and Wil Myers each homered twice and the visiting San Diego Padres set a franchise record with seven homers while defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 19-4 on Saturday afternoon.

Ian Kinsler and Eric Hosmer also homered for the Padres. Hedges had five RBIs and Myers had four.

Right-hander Cal Quantrill (1-2) struck out nine in six innings to earn his first career win for San Diego.

Quantrill, who is from nearby Port Hope, Ont., and the son of former major league pitcher Paul Quantrill, allowed three runs on two hits, both home runs, and two walks in his fourth career start.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Justin Smoak homered for the Blue Jays.

Edwin Jackson (0-2) allowed seven hits, one walk and seven runs in four innings. Jackson served up three homers.

The Padres outhit the Blue Jays 20-4. Toronto catcher Luke Maile pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing one hit, a hit batter and striking out two.

San Diego's Josh Naylor (three hits, two RBIs) had his first major league hit in his second game in the first inning with an RBI double. It scored Greg Garcia, who led off with a double.

The Padres held a 3-0 lead in the second when Myers hit his eighth of the season and Kinsler followed with his sixth.

Gurriel hit his second homer of the season in the bottom of the third.

The Padres took a 7-1 lead in the fourth on the grand slam by Hedges, his sixth homer this season.

Smoak hit his ninth homer this season after Vladimir Guerrero Jr. walked in the bottom of the fourth.

Thomas Pannone replaced Jackson in the fifth and loaded the bases with three singles before forcing in three runs by walking Myers and Kinsler and hitting Hedges (five RBIs) with a pitch.

Renfroe hit his 13th homer of the season against Derek Law in the sixth after Hosmer singled to make it 12-3.

The Padres scored twice in the seventh against Zac Rosscup on two walks, a passed ball, Garcia's groundout and Naylor's infield single.

Sam Gaviglio allowed solo homers to Hosmer and Renfroe and a two-run shot to Myers in the eighth. Relief pitcher Phil Maton, who batted because designated hitter Garcia had moved to shortstop, had an RBI single.

Toronto's Freddy Galvis had an RBI single in the eighth.
