Eric Thames hit a three-run home run and Travis Shaw collected three hits Monday as the Milwaukee Brewers earned a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in a game that was delayed 23 minutes by a power failure.

After the Brewers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Shaw, the Dodger Stadium scoreboards, sound system and stadium lights all shut down. The Dodgers, who were in the field warming up for the second inning, returned to their dugout.

Two innings after power was restored, the Brewers got a two-out walk from Shaw and a single from Ryan Braun before Thames went deep for his 14th home run of the season into the seats in left center field.

It was the first home run since July 8 for Thames, who missed seven games this month while on the disabled list due to right hamstring tightness. The blast gave Milwaukee a 4-0 lead.

Los Angeles got on the scoreboard in the third inning on a triple from Max Muncy that scored Manny Machado, who was making his home debut as a Dodger. Machado played his first game for the Dodgers on July 20 at Milwaukee after he was acquired via trade from the Baltimore Orioles.

Machado, who hit a home run in the ninth inning Monday, went 1-for-3 with two walks, striking out looking with two runners in scoring position in the fourth inning. The home run was his 26th of the season, his second for Los Angeles.

Milwaukee starter Freddy Peralta gave up one run on three hits over four innings.

The Brewers' bullpen held the Dodgers to one run over the final five innings. Josh Hader (4-0) struck out three over two hitless innings. Joakim Soria, acquired via trade from the Chicago White Sox last week, delivered his second scoreless inning for his new club.

Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda (7-6) gave up four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings, but it could have been worse. The Brewers loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning and scored on Shaw's single, but Braun struck out, Thames popped up and Manny Pina flied out to end the threat.

Christian Yelich went 1-for-5 for the Brewers after being named National League player of the week following a 15-hit display over the previous seven games. His first-inning double extended his hitting streak to 14 games. Yelich also has hits in 19 of his past 20 games.
