Kiké Hernandez's seventh-inning home run snapped a 3-3 tie and helped lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium.

Andrew Toles' two-out RBI single in the eighth inning provided an insurance run, helping the Dodgers take two of three in the series and win their fourth of five games heading into the All-Star break.

Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw gave up a three-run home run to Jefry Marte, but otherwise held the Angels scoreless in 6 2/3 innings. Kenta Maeda (7-5) relieved Kershaw in the seventh and got the final out of the inning, a brief appearance but enough to earn the victory.

Kenley Jansen pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 27th save.

The Dodgers gave Kershaw a lead in the second inning with three runs against Angels starter Deck McGuire, Kershaw pitching in with the bat as well.

Yasmani Grandal got it started with a solo homer with one out before Toles and Chris Taylor followed with back-to-back singles. Hernandez made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly, and Kershaw's RBI single with two out put the Dodgers up 3-0.

Kershaw held the Angels scoreless until the fourth, when Marte followed singles by Justin Upton and Ian Kinsler with a three-run homer, tying the game at 3.

While the Angels turned to their bullpen to start the fourth, ending McGuire's afternoon after he allowed three runs and four hits in three innings pitched, Kershaw pitched into the seventh, leaving with two on and two out.

With the All-Star break looming, the Dodgers went to Maeda, normally a starter, out of the bullpen to face Upton. Upton was hit by Maeda's first pitch, loading the bases, but Maeda struck out Kinsler to get out of the jam.

Hernandez gave the Dodgers the lead in the bottom of the seventh, hitting a first-pitch slider by Taylor Cole (0-2) for his 16th home run of the season and a 4-3 lead.
