Arizona first baseman Paul Goldschmidt had two homers and four RBIs, David Peralta had four hits and three RBIs and Nick Ahmed had three hits and three RBIs as the Diamondbacks twice overcame two-run deficits in a 12-7 victory over the host Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday.

Goldschmidt had his second straight two-homer game, a career first, and Ahmed doubled in the final two runs of a six-run eighth inning fueled when reliever Bryan Shaw committed a double error on a grounder back to the mound on the second batter of the inning.

Colorado shortstop Trevor Story had three hits including two two-run homers and DJ LeMahieu had two hits, including a two-run homer that gave the Rockies a 7-5 lead after four innings. Story, who also homered in the first game of the series Friday, leads major league shortstops with 14 homers and 47 RBIs.

After giving up a bloop single to John Ryan Murphy to open the eighth, Shaw (2-5) bobbled Ketel Marte's grounder and then threw it past first base as Murphy scored to tie the game at 7. Jake Lamb singled in the tie-breaking run before Peralta hit a two-run single and Ahmed hit a two-run double. Five of the six runs were unearned.

Goldschmidt, who also singled, set a franchise record with his fourth consecutive game with at least three hits. He has six homers in nine games since returning to the lineup after a day off May 29, going 17-for-36 with 12 RBIs in that span. He was hit by a pitch from Brooks Pounders with two outs in the top of the ninth inning.

Colorado has lost six straight home games and has given up at least seven runs in all six. The Rockies have blown 12 saves this season.

Silvino Bracho (2-0) retired all six batters he faced for the victory.

Goldschmidt hit a bases-empty homer with one out in the first inning off Chad Bettis before Story countered with his first homer in the last of the first off Matt Koch for a 2-1 lead. The Rockies have a major league-high 59 runs in the first inning.

Ahmed homered in the second inning, his ninth of the season, to tie the game before Story homered again, his 14th of the season, to make it 4-2 in the third. Ahmed doubled and Jon Jay was hit by a pitch before Goldschmidt homered in the fourth inning to put Arizona back in front 5-4. Goldschmidt has 12 homers on the season.

Colorado scored three in its half of the fourth for a 7-5 lead. Ryan McMahon hit a sacrifice fly before LeMahieu's homer, his sixth of the season. Peralta had an RBI double in the seventh inning to make it 7-6.
