Austin Jackson hit a go-ahead three-run double in the fifth inning Saturday and Johnny Cueto gave up two runs over six innings as the San Francisco Giants earned a doubleheader split with an 8-3 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers took the doubleheader opener earlier in the day, 15-6.

Jackson entered Saturday's nightcap with a .198 batting average over his first 18 games with the Giants and just three RBIs, but he doubled that total on his extra-base hit to left field off Dodgers starter Alex Wood (0-3).

The Dodgers' left-hander had given up just one hit over the first four innings before Brandon Belt, Kelby Tomlinson and Brandon Crawford all singled in succession with one out. Jackson followed with his double, just his second extra-base hit with the Giants.

The Giants went ahead 4-2 in the sixth inning on a two-out RBI single from Belt.

The Dodger had the bases loaded with nobody out in the seventh inning, but they scored just one run when Austin Barnes grounded into a double play.

Evan Longoria and Tomlinson each delivered two-run hits in the seventh inning off of the Dodgers' bullpen. Dodgers relievers have allowed 12 runs in 8 1/3 innings during the first three games of the series, and 11 runs in just the seventh inning of the three games.

Cueto (3-0) gave up just three hits with three strikeouts and two walks. It was the first time in five starts he had given up more than one earned run in an outing. Giants reliever D.J. Snelten pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in his major league debut.

Wood gave up four runs on six hits over six innings. He had four strikeouts with one walk. Alex Verdugo had two hits for the Dodgers in his 2018 debut after being recalled between games of the doubleheader.

The Dodgers scored quickly in the game, getting a leadoff ground-rule double from Chris Taylor, followed by a two-run home run from Corey Seager, his second of the season.

It was the first home run Cueto has allowed this season.
