MILWAUKEE -- It certainly wasn't the best start of Julio Urias' short career, but it was good enough for the 19-year-old phenom to record his first major league victory.

Urias went six innings, struck out six and allowed only two hits, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-5 victory Tuesday night at Miller Park.

"Incredible," Urias said through a team translator. "It's one of the best days of my life. What more can I say?"

Urias might have had another inning in him but threw a career-high 100 pitches, in large part because of six walks -- which also represented a career high.

"I struggled with some pitches," Urias said. "Obviously the walks were too many for any starter, but the good thing was that we could get the win and we could get the results."

Still, it was enough to get rid of the zero in the win column after six encouraging starts to his big league career.

"He made pitches when he needed to," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said "That's one of the things with Julio, as he continues to make major league starts, and continue to try to be more efficient, but obviously the walks tonight is something that he needs to get better at, but when he needed to make pitches and throw strikes, he did that."

The Dodgers' offense helped Urias out with two big innings early against Brewers right-hander Chase Anderson, who was back on the mound for the first time in 10 days.

He made quick work of the Dodgers in the first, but back-to-back singles by Adrian Gonzalez and Trayce Thompson, along with throwing error on Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy, gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead and Thompson made it a 2-0 game when he scored on Yasmani Grandal's ground-out to short.

The Brewers tied them in the third on a two-run double by Ryan Braun but Los Angeles added three more in the fourth on an RBI double by Gonzalez and run-scoring singles by Joc Pederson and Urias -- the first of his major league career.

Gonzalez finished 3-for-3 and reached base five times while scoring twice and driving in a run.

Anderson couldn't get out of the fifth inning, giving way to Carlos Torres after allowing a leadoff double to Howie Kendrick and a walk to Corey Seager.

"I felt good, I felt strong," Anderson said. "I felt like I made some pitches, too. I just had some bad breaks and I left a couple balls up, but overall, I felt like I made some decent pitches. The Dodgers have my number right now. I've had some success against them, but of late, they're seeing what I'm throwing."

Milwaukee's bullpen held Los Angeles at bay the rest of the way and the offense threatened to spoil Urias' big night in the eighth, scoring two on Lucroy's double and drawing within a run on Chris Cater's sacrifice fly.

Joe Blanton issued a pair of walks to put the go-ahead run on but escaped when Grandal threw out Hernan Perez trying to score on a wild pitch.

"I thought I had a chance to make it," Perez said. It was pretty close."

Carter's sacrifice fly may have saved the Dodgers' lead, but still came at a cost as center fielder Joc Pedersen crashed into the wall chasing it down and left the game with what was later diagnosed as a sprained right AC joint, leaving his status uncertain.

"He's sore, but there's nothing as far as us, a DL situation or anything like that right now," Roberts said. "So, we're going to kind of see how he comes into tomorrow."

NOTES: Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw will return to Los Angeles this week for an examination on his lower back, which has been bothering him the last few days. His next scheduled start isn't until Friday and manager Dave Roberts was optimistic that Kershaw would be able to take the mound. ... Milwaukee added versatility and a right-handed bat to its four-man bench Tuesday, selecting the contract of utility man Jake Elmore from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Elmore can play all eight positions and was batting .320 this season. To make room for Elmore on the roster, the Brewers designated OF Alex Presley for assignment. ... Brock Stewart becomes the fourth Los Angeles starter to make his major league debut when he takes the mound Wednesday at Milwaukee replacing Nick Tepesch, who was designated for assignment over the weekend. The Dodgers' sixth-round draft pick in 2014 began the season in Class A and is a combined 8-3 with a 1.47 ERA in 14 starts between the three top levels of Los Angeles' farm system this year.
