Rangers 6, Blue Jays 2: Mitch Moreland hit a tiebreaking two-run homer and Alex Rios had a two-run triple as host Texas salvaged the finale of a three-game series against Toronto.

Moreland’s seventh-inning blast helped snap the Rangers’ four-game losing skid and the Blue Jays committed four errors while losing for only the second time in seven games. The homer was one of three run-scoring extra-base hits by Texas, which played without Prince Fielder (neck) for the second consecutive day while halting a string of six straight losses to Toronto.

Shin-Soo Choo went 2-for-3 with a walk and delivered a run-scoring double in the eighth to make it 5-2. Adrian Beltre singled home Choo later in the inning as the Rangers won for only the second time in eight games.

Toronto’s Edwin Encarnacion homered to left-center field in the sixth off Texas reliever Aaron Poreda (2-0) to knot the score at two. Rios reached on an error by Blue Jays third baseman Juan Francisco in the seventh and Moreland followed with a low liner off R.A. Dickey (4-4) that barely cleared the right-field wall.

Francisco hit a one-out homer into the second deck in right in the fourth to put the Blue Jays ahead. Texas responded in the bottom of the inning as Choo reached on an infield single and Beltre walked before Rios drove them both in with a two-run triple off the fence in right-center.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas starter RHP Nick Martinez allowed one run and four hits in five innings. … Dickey was charged with four runs (three earned) and three hits in 6 1/3 innings. … Rangers 2B Rougned Odor (wrist) was scratched from the lineup and missed his second straight start.
