Rays 4, Mariners 0: Erik Bedard struck out a season-high eight over six innings as Tampa Bay rolled over visiting Seattle to snap its 10-game losing streak.

Yunel Escobar recorded two singles and an RBI while Evan Longoria, Kevin Kiermaier and James Loney each added a pair of hits for the Rays. Bedard (3-4) allowed four hits and walked only one to end a four-game winless streak as Tampa Bay got a victory from a starting pitcher for the first time in 19 contests.

Robinson Cano and Cole Gillespie collected two hits apiece for the Mariners, who struck out 14 times and saw their five-game winning streak come to an end. Seattle starter Chris Young (5-3) yielded three runs on seven hits and five walks in five innings to take the loss after winning his previous two outings.

The Mariners had runners at second and third with none out in the third before Bedard struck out the next three batters to end the threat. Kiermaier legged out a double with one out in the fourth, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored when Jose Molina notched his first RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly.

Desmond Jennings delivered a bunt single to knock in one run and Escobar’s base hit pushed home another in the fifth as the Rays took a 3-0 lead. Escobar singled and scored on a wild pitch in the seventh while Jake McGee, Joel Peralta and Grant Balfour finished the shutout for the Rays.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tampa Bay left the bases loaded in the second, third, sixth and seventh innings and stranded 15 runners overall. … Seattle CF Michael Saunders left the game in the fourth inning with a sore right shoulder. … Tampa Bay RHP Jeremy Hellickson (elbow) is expected to make his first rehab start with Class-A Charlotte when it plays at the Tampa Yankees on Saturday and injured Rays C Ryan Hanigan (hamstring) is scheduled to catch him.
