Athletics 4, Nationals 3 (10): John Jaso doubled home Nick Punto with two outs in the 10th and host Oakland rallied to win its second straight against Washington.

The Athletics sent the game to extra innings by scoring twice in the bottom of the ninth courtesy of an RBI double by Jed Lowrie and a run-scoring single by Josh Donaldson. Sean Doolittle (1-2) pitched the final two innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory after starter Sonny Gray had gone seven innings, allowing three runs and six hits.

Washington starter Tanner Roark allowed one run and two hits over 7 2/3 innings and looked to be in good position for his third win when the bullpen faltered and Drew Storen (2-1) took the loss after allowing the game-winning run. Kevin Frandsen had two hits and drove in a pair of runs and Danny Espinosa added his fifth home run of the season for the Nationals.

Espinosa homered with one out in the third to get the rally started off Gray. Zach Walters and Denard Span followed with singles before Frandsen doubled in both players for a 3-0 lead. The Athletics got a run back in their half of the third when Jaso homered for the second consecutive game but Roark settled back in and retired 13 in a row before Josh Reddick singled to lead off the eighth.

Rafael Soriano came out to pitch the ninth for Washington but gave up a leadoff single to Jaso before Lowrie’s double to deep right-center. Donaldson then drove a fastball into left-center, knocking in Lowrie with the tying run.
