Giants 9, Phillies 6 (14): Buster Posey delivered a game-tying solo homer in the ninth and Brandon Crawford drilled a three-run double in the 14th to lift visiting San Francisco past Philadelphia for the second straight night.

Posey finished 4-for-7, including a double to ignite the decisive rally, which Crawford highlighted with a shot off the left-field wall against Jeff Manship (1-2). Crawford came around to score on Hector Sanchez's base hit before Tim Lincecum bailed out George Kontos (3-0) in the bottom half by recording the final two outs for his first career save.

With one out in the ninth, Posey ripped a first-pitch fastball from Jonathan Papelbon a few rows deep into the left-field seats for his 11th blast of the year. The score remained 5-5 until Posey's 14th-inning double was followed by an intentional walk to Pablo Sandoval, a sacrifice by Kontos and a free pass to Gregor Blanco in advance of Crawford's hit.

One day after Matt Cain (elbow) was placed on the disabled list, Yusmeiro Petit got the starting nod for the Giants and surrendered five runs in five innings. Petit's counterpart, Roberto Hernandez, allowed three runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings and was in line for the victory before Papelbon suffered his third blown save of 2014.

Philadelphia initially trailed 3-2 in the fifth, when Jimmy Rollins' two-run homer against Petit put the hosts back in front, and Marlon Byrd added an RBI double later in the frame. San Francisco got one run back in the seventh when Posey's shot up the middle caromed off Phillies pitcher Ken Giles and then trickled through the legs of second baseman Chase Utley, allowing Ehire Adrianza to score.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hunter Pence (3-for-8) has recorded multiple hits in four straight games, raising his average to .305. ... Papelbon had not given up a home run since September of last season. ... The Giants improved to 8-2 in extra innings.
