Phillies 5, Cardinals 1: A.J. Burnett tossed his 24th career complete game and added an RBI double as visiting Philadelphia posted its season-high fifth consecutive victory.

Jimmy Rollins belted the go-ahead RBI ground-rule double in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to 14 games and added a sacrifice fly for the Phillies, who recorded their ninth win in 11 outings. Marlon Byrd homered to lead off the sixth and John Mayberry Jr. had an RBI single among his two hits and scored twice in the victory.

After yielding a run-scoring single to Matt Holliday in the third, Burnett forged a tie with an RBI double to center field in the fifth. Rollins promptly gave Philadelphia the lead as his double down the left-field line was aided by fan interference, allowing Burnett to score.

Byrd jumped on a 1-1 changeup from Jaime Garcia (3-1) and deposited it over the wall in left field for his 12th homer - and second in three games. Mayberry's single to center field gave the Phillies a 4-1 lead later in the frame before he came around to score on Rollins' sacrifice fly to left.

The offense was more than enough for Burnett (5-6), who allowed one run on seven hits en route to his first complete game of the season. Garcia suffered his first loss of the campaign and fell to 2-4 in his career versus Philadelphia after yielding four runs on seven hits in five innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Philadelphia LHP Cliff Lee tossed his second bullpen session on Friday as he works his way back from a strained left elbow. ... While Reid Brignac was sent to the disabled list with a high ankle sprain, Phillies fellow 3B Cody Asche made his return and 0-for-4 went in his first game since being sidelined on May 22 with a strained hamstring. ... The game began following a 50-minute rain delay.
