Phillies 6, Mets 5 (14): Reid Brignac delivered a bases-loaded single with none out in the 14th inning as Philadelphia ended a streak of six consecutive home losses to New York.

The game-winning hit by Brignac was made possible after Marlon Byrd reached second base when Mets right fielder Chris Young dropped his routine fly ball and Carlos Ruiz followed with his fourth hit off closer Jenrry Mejia (4-2), who issued an intentional walk to Cesar Hernandez to load the bases. Justin De Fratus (2-0) worked two hitless innings to cap seven scoreless frames of three-hit ball by the Phillies' bullpen.

Domonic Brown swatted a three-run homer and drove in four runs as Philadelphia avoided matching its longest home losing streak to the Mets in franchise history. Bobby Abreu had two hits and drove in two runs and Travis d'Arnaud and Ruben Tejada each had two hits and an RBI for New York, which was denied a season-high fourth straight victory.

The Mets jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on Lucas Duda's RBI double and Tejada's run-scoring single wedged around d'Arnaud's RBI groundout, but Philadelphia scored an unearned run in the third before going ahead on Brown's three-run blast in the fourth. It was the fifth homer allowed in four outing by Mets starter Rafael Montero, who failed to get through the inning.

The Mets went ahead in their next at-bat on Abreu's two-out, two-run double, but the Phillies tied it in the bottom of the frame when Byrd walked, moved to third on Ruiz's double and scored on Brown's groundout off Daisuke Matsuzaka. Abreu struck out with the bases loaded in the ninth, dropping New York to 6-for-48 with the sacks full this season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phillies starter A.J. Burnett gave up five runs in seven innings and became the fourth pitcher since 2001 with at least 11 strikeouts and six walks in a game, while Montero had the shortest outing of his four-start major-league career, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings. ... Brown, who entered the game in a 3-for-30 slump, had only his second extra-base hit in 11 games - both homers. ... Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins was 2-for-5 to boost his career hit total to 2,223, moving him within 12 of surpassing Mike Schmidt (2,234) as the franchise's all-time hits leader.
