Mets 5, Phillies 4 (11): Ruben Tejada lined the first pitch he saw into left-center field to plate the winning run as New York rallied to take the series finale against visiting Philadelphia.

With closer Jonathan Papelbon unavailable due to a neck injury, the Mets scored three runs against the Phillies' bullpen in the ninth and won it in the 11th against Jeff Manship (1-1). Chris Young led off with an infield single and, after a sacrifice and a walk, Anthony Recker reached on another infield hit to load the bases before Tejada's decisive hit, which made a winner of Scott Rice (1-1).

Eric Young Jr. collected three hits for the Mets, as did Daniel Murphy, who delivered a two-run homer in the ninth to begin New York's late comeback. The rally spoiled what would have been the 100th career win for Phillies starter Cole Hamels, who allowed one run and seven hits with a season-high 10 strikeouts in seven innings.

The Mets, who entered having lost five straight games, jumped ahead 1-0 on David Wright's first-inning RBI single, but Cody Asche's second-inning double plated the tying run. The Phillies' offense delivered two more runs in the fourth inning, which began with an infield single by Ryan Howard and a double by Marlon Byrd, followed by run-scoring groundouts by Domonic Brown and Wil Nieves.

New York wasted scoring chances in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings and appeared to be in trouble when Chase Utley's RBI triple in the top of the ninth made it 4-1, but Antonio Bastardo ran into immediate trouble in the bottom half of the frame. Bastardo gave up a leadoff double to Eric Young Jr., followed by a homer to Murphy and a one-out double to Chris Young before Juan Lagares plated the tying run on a groundout to shortstop.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brown's RBI groundout was a routine grounder to first on which Eric Campbell threw home to Travis d'Arnaud, but Howard eluded the tag with a twisting slide around the New York catcher. ... Eric Young Jr. grounded out to third base to open the seventh inning. The play was reviewed, but the safe call was upheld due to inconclusive evidence to overturn the call. ... The Mets visit Yankee Stadium for two games before returning to Citi Field on Wednesday and Thursday to take on their in-city rival. The Phillies host the Los Angeles Angels for two games beginning on Tuesday before the Cincinnati Reds come to town for a three-game set.
