Mets 4, Cardinals 1: Bartolo Colon was dominant through seven innings and Chris Young slugged his first home run with New York as the Mets took three of four from visiting St. Louis.

Daniel Murphy had two hits and two RBIs and Eric Young Jr. scored twice for New York, which has won seven of its last 10 and moved two games over .500 (12-10) for the first time since it was 7-5 to begin 2013. Colon (2-3) let up a season-low four hits and one run while striking out a season-high eight before Daisuke Matsuzaka recorded his first career save in place of closer Kyle Farnsworth, who had pitched three of the last four days.

Lance Lynn (4-1) surrendered three runs - two earned - and four hits with nine strikeouts in 6 1/3 frames to get his first loss in nine starts dating to last season. Kolten Wong had a pair of hits and Tony Cruz drove in a run for St. Louis, which has scored 13 runs during a 2-5 stretch.

No runner reached second base until Wong singled with two outs in the top of the fifth inning and came around to score on Cruz's double into the gap in left-center. Young homered to left to lead off the bottom half of the frame and Lynn had an error of his own to allow Young to reach in the sixth before Murphy ripped an RBI double past a diving Jon Jay in center to make it 2-1.

Curtis Granderson hit for Colon in the seventh and knocked in a run prior to Murphy's opposite-field RBI base hit that capped the scoring. Scott Rice entered to get the last out of the eighth and strand a pair of runners before Matsuzaka worked a 1-2-3 ninth.
