Twins 4, Mariners 3: Brian Dozier hit a go-ahead three-run home run and Samuel Deduno worked six solid innings as host Minnesota downed Seattle for its fifth win in the last six games.

Dozier also scored on Kurt Suzuki’s first-inning RBI double for Minnesota, which has won seven of its last eight at home. Deduno (1-2) allowed two runs on two hits and a pair of walks while two relievers bridged the gap to Glen Perkins, who worked around a leadoff single by Justin Smoak in the ninth for his 12th save.

Rookie Roenis Elias (3-3) saw his four-game unbeaten streak come to an end after giving up four runs on six hits over a career high-tying seven frames. Michael Saunders went deep for the first time since April 26 and finished with two RBIs while James Jones’ first career triple drove in the Mariners’ other run.

Dozier, who entered Saturday batting .357 over his previous seven contests, extended his hitting streak to eight games in the opening frame with a single and came around to score when Suzuki’s grounder down the left-field line eluded third baseman Kyle Seager. Seattle evened it in the third as Jones’ chopper over first gave the Mariners’ leadoff hitter enough time to coast in for a standup triple.

Saunders plated Jones in the next at-bat with a sacrifice fly to give Seattle its first lead before Aaron Hicks and Eduardo Escobar singled with one out in the fifth ahead of Dozier, who lifted Elias’ low 0-1 curveball just over the fence in left-center for his second homer in as many games. Saunders halved the deficit in the eighth with a solo shot off reliever Jared Burton, but the Mariners could get no closer en route to their third one-run loss in the last four contests.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Six of Minnesota's last seven wins have been by one run. … Seattle 2B Robinson Cano reached on an infield single in the sixth, extending his on-base streak to 25 straight contests – the longest active streak in the majors. … The Twins managed only six hits on Saturday, ending a five-game streak in which they tallied at least 10.
