Pirates 4, Brewers 1: Chris Stewart delivered a tiebreaking RBI single to spark a three-run rally in the top of the ninth inning and lift visiting Pittsburgh past Milwaukee.

Ike Davis singled with one out in the ninth against Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez (1-1) and Jordy Mercer followed with a base hit before Stewart lined a single to center to snap the 1-1 tie. Starling Marte followed with a double to center to push across two more runs and cap the decisive rally.

Tony Watson (4-0) survived a walk and a single in the eighth inning to pick up the win and Mark Melancon recorded his fifth save for the Pirates, who won for the first time in five games at Milwaukee this year. Francisco Liriano allowed one run and struck out seven in six strong innings and Jose Tabata had an RBI groundout in the fourth for Pittsburgh.

Brewers starter Wily Peralta yielded a run in seven frames to lower his ERA through eight outings to 2.05. Khris Davis doubled to begin the fifth for Milwaukee, moved to third on an error and scored the tying run on Jeff Bianchi's sacrifice fly.

The Brewers had runners at the corners with two outs in the seventh, but Bryan Morris got Elian Herrera to ground out to shortstop to end the threat. Rickie Weeks walked to lead off Milwaukee's eighth before Ryan Braun hit into a double play and Mark Reynolds later flied to right with a runner on second.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brewers CF Carlos Gomez dropped the appeal of his three-game suspension for his part in a brawl with the Pirates last month and began serving the penalty in this one. ... Weeks had a hit in three at-bats and is 13-for-23 since April 25. ... Pirates LH Wandy Rodriguez opposes Brewers RH Yovani Gallardo in the series finale Thursday afternoon.
