Angels 5, Blue Jays 2: Howie Kendrick had an RBI single among three hits as Los Angeles overcame an injury to starter Jered Weaver to win its 11th straight home game.

Weaver tossed two perfect innings before leaving with lower back stiffness and giving way to Matt Shoemaker (7-2), who gave up two runs in 3 2/3 innings to get the win. Albert Pujols had a pair of hits and an RBI and Erick Aybar doubled in a run for the Angels, who have won five straight overall.

Juan Francisco delivered a solo shot and Jose Bautista added a sacrifice fly to pace Toronto. J.A. Happ (7-5) was roughed up for five runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings as the Blue Jays lost their fifth straight.

Francisco's 14th of the year put Toronto up 2-1 in the fifth but the Angels seized control with four in the bottom half. Chris Iannetta doubled to lead it off and two walks loaded the bases for Pujols, who tied it with a base hit to right.

Josh Hamilton followed with a go-ahead sacrifice fly, Kendrick knocked in run with a single and Aybar greeted reliever Chad Jenkins with a double to make it 5-2. Three more relievers got the ball to Joe Smith, who coasted through the ninth for his 11th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto placed 3B Edwin Encarnacion (quadriceps) on the 15-day disabled list and activated OF Nolan Reimold. ... Los Angeles' home winning streak is its longest in a single season since a 12-game run in 1967. ... The Angels are 46-9 when scoring four runs or more.
