Athletics 7, Marlins 6 (14): Josh Donaldson delivered a tiebreaking, two-out RBI single in the top of the 14th inning as visiting Oakland outlasted Miami to improve to 6-1 in interleague play.

After Alberto Callaspo drove in the tiebreaking run in the eighth to make it 6-5, the Athletics turned the ninth over to Sean Doolittle, who had retired 40 of his last 41 batters and entered the contest with a 26 1/3-inning scoreless streak. The Oakland closer struck out Jeff Baker to open the frame, but Giancarlo Stanton doubled and scored one pitch later on Casey McGehee’s sinking liner to send the game into extra innings.

The game remained deadlocked when former starter Jacob Turner (2-6) opened the 14th with consecutive strikeouts before Brandon Moss doubled and Donaldson took the next pitch up the middle to plate the winning run. Former closer Jim Johnson (4-2) worked 2 1/3 innings before loading the bases with one out in the bottom half of the 14th, but 33-year-old Jeff Francis fanned Jarrod Saltalamacchia and retired Donovan Solano on a flyout to right for his first career save.

Callaspo and Brandon Moss each knocked in two runs while John Jaso added three hits and scored for the Athletics (50-30), who became the first American League team to reach 50 wins. Reed Johnson finished with two RBIs while Stanton had three hits and an RBI for the Marlins, who have dropped 14 of their last 20 at home.

Miami took its first lead in the fourth as Stanton singled home Reed Johnson with one out and Garrett Jones followed a bases-loaded walk to Casey McGehee with a run-scoring groundout. However, the Athletics tied it 5-5 in the fifth when Coco Crisp scored when he aggressively took home on catcher Saltalamacchia’s throw to first after Nathan Eovaldi fanned Moss on a slider in the dirt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oakland RF Josh Reddick left the game in the bottom of the third with a right knee strain. Saturday marked Reddick’s fourth game back after he missed the previous 20 with a hyperextended right knee. … Miami CF Marcell Ozuna left the game in the bottom of the seventh after he appeared to suffer a right leg injury while running out a line-drive out to left. … Athletics LF Yoenis Cespedes singled in the first and again in the ninth to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.
