Mets 11, Marlins 5: Daniel Murphy belted a three-run homer and visiting New York built an early seven-run lead en route to taking three of four from Miami.

Anthony Recker and Eric Young Jr. each drove in a pair of runs, and David Wright, Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Ruben Tejada added two hits and an RBI apiece as the Mets amassed their highest run total since an 11-3 rout of Philadelphia on June 2. Curtis Granderson and Lucas Duda each collected three hits to back Jonathon Niese (4-4), who earned his first victory in exactly a month by yielding three runs over six innings.

Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna each had two hits and an RBI single and Justin Bour added a two-run double in the ninth for the Marlins, who fell under .500 for the first time since April 30 with their fourth loss in five games. Anthony DeSclafani (1-2) was battered for seven runs over 3 2/3 innings in his fourth career start.

Niese followed Recker's sacrifice fly with a suicide-squeeze bunt in the second for a 2-0 lead before New York doubled the lead in the third on Wright's sacrifice fly and Nieuwenhuis' RBI double. Murphy hammered an 0-1 fastball into the shrubs in right-center with two outs in the fourth to make it 7-0 and end DeSclafani's day.

Some shoddy defense contributed to a three-run sixth for Miami as Granderson misplayed Jeff Mathis' fly ball to right field into a double, setting up Reed Johnson's run-scoring double and Stanton's RBI single. Ozuna plated the third run with a hard shot past second baseman Murphy, but Young's two-RBI single capped a four-run seventh to extend the Mets' lead to 11-3.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Niese registered his 19th consecutive start with three earned runs or fewer to tie Tom Seaver (1971-72, 1973-74) for the fourth-longest streak in franchise history. ... The Marlins placed 2B Rafael Furcal on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring and called up 2B Derek Dietrich from Triple-A New Orleans. ... Wright extended his hitting streak to seven games and RBI string to six contests for New York, which has a day off before hosting Oakland on Tuesday, while Miami opens a four-game series at Philadelphia on Monday.
