Brewers 9, Marlins 5: Mark Reynolds belted a pair of two-run homers and Carlos Gomez knocked in two with four hits as visiting Milwaukee outslugged Miami in the opener of a three-game series.

Jean Segura recorded a pair of singles and scored twice while Scooter Gennett had two RBIs and Khris Davis added a solo blast for the Brewers. Marco Estrada (4-2) was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion, allowing five runs and six hits while striking out seven over 6 2/3 innings to earn the victory.

Giancarlo Stanton and Garrett Jones each launched two solo homers for the Marlins, who are 2-2 on their six-game homestand. Miami starter Tom Koehler (4-4) yielded seven runs on nine hits over five innings to lose at home for the first time in four decisions this season.

Segura singled and later scored on Gennett’s sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning and Stanton homered to center field to tie it in the bottom of the frame. Gomez opened the fourth with the first of his three doubles and trotted home when Reynolds smashed the next pitch over the left-field fence to give Milwaukee the lead.

The Brewers broke it open in the fifth as Gennett lined an RBI triple down the first-base line, Gomez doubled him in and Reynolds slammed another homer to left for a 7-1 edge. Stanton and Jones homered before Ed Lucas singled in a run as the Marlins pulled within 9-5 in the seventh, but they left two on base.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Milwaukee RF Ryan Braun was held out of the starting lineup due to right oblique soreness, but he could be back for Saturday’s game. … Reynolds recorded his 20th career two-homer game while Stanton has accomplished the feat 12 times. … The seven combined homers is a record in a single game at Marlins Park.
