Marlins 7, Giants 5:
Casey McGehee singled in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning while Christian Yelich homered and scored a career-high four runs as visiting Miami edged San Francisco.

Yelich drew a leadoff walk and scored from second base on McGehee’s single off Santiago Casilla (1-1), and Miami added an insurance run on Garrett Jones’ RBI base hit. Mike Dunn (4-3) pitched a scoreless eighth inning to pick up the win and Steve Cishek worked around a leadoff walk in the ninth for his eighth save.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 4-for-5 after going hitless in his previous 26 at-bats and Jones added three hits for Miami, which won for the second time in its last eight games. Michael Morse and Angel Pagan each had two hits and scored twice for San Francisco, which fell to 11-4 over its last 15 games at home.

After Yelich began the game with a home run off Yusmeiro Petit, the Giants answered in the bottom half of the first when Pagan scored on Pablo Sandoval’s double. Sandoval had two hits and is 11-for-28 during his season-high seven-game hitting streak for the Giants, who lost despite recording a season-best six doubles.

Derek Dietrich belted a two-run homer in the third and Miami moved ahead 4-1 in the fourth on Adeiny Hechavarria’s sacrifice fly. San Francisco chipped away with two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth before pinch hitter Gregor Blanco tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth with an RBI single off Henderson Alvarez, who allowed five runs (four earned) over six innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami RF Giancarlo Stanton went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts, snapping his career-best 17-game hitting streak. … Petit started in place of RHP Tim Hudson and allowed five runs (four earned) over five frames. Hudson was scratched due to a strained left hip but is expected to avoid the disabled list. … Miami loaded the bases with one out in the eighth before Casilla induced a double play from pinch hitter Ed Lucas to end the threat.
