Marlins 7, Mariners 0: Henderson Alvarez threw a two-hit shutout as Miami won its second straight game against visiting Seattle.

Alvarez (1-2) struck out four and didn't walk a batter as he faced one hitter above the minimum while throwing 90 pitches, including 62 for strikes. Marcell Ozuna drove in four runs with a three-run homer and RBI single and Adeiny Hechavarria contributed three hits and scored two runs for the Marlins, who have won three of four following an eight-game losing streak.

Christian Yelich added two walks, a double and two runs scored in the leadoff spot for Miami and Donovan Solano contributed two hits and a run scored as the bottom three spots in the Marlins’ batting order combined to go 6-for-10 with four runs scored. Seattle starter Roenis Elias (1-2) went 5 2/3 innings, allowing six runs (four earned) and eight hits.

Alvarez, who threw a walk-off no-hitter on the final day of last season, retired the first 15 batters before Dustin Ackley led off the sixth with a single. Ackley was then erased on a double play and Alvarez needed just 11 pitches to retire the side in order in the seventh.

Elias pitched out of trouble in the first and second innings, but Yelich doubled to lead off third and came home on Casey McGehee’s one-out single, and the Marlins added another run in the fourth on a passed ball for a 2-0 lead. Alvarez helped himself with an RBI single in the sixth and Ozuna stepped up two batters later and lined a homer over the left-field wall for a 6-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami OF Giancarlo Stanton, who hit a walk-off grand slam on Friday to give him a major-league leading 26 RBIs, went 0-for-3 with two walks and two strikeouts. … Seattle 2B Robinson Cano came in 6-for-11 in his career against Alvarez with two homers but went 0-for-3. … Yelich has hit safely in 13 straight games.
