Dodgers 7, Marlins 1: Josh Beckett pitched 6 1/3 strong innings for his first victory since 2012 and Hanley Ramirez knocked in a pair of runs as host Los Angeles defeated Miami for the second straight night.

Beckett (1-1) allowed one unearned run on four hits and struck out six to snap a 14-start winless streak since his last triumph on Sept. 30, 2012 against Colorado. Ramirez ripped a two-run double in the sixth inning when the Dodgers scored five times while Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig each had two hits and an RBI.

Giancarlo Stanton collected two singles to extend his hitting streak to 15 games for the Marlins, who have dropped five straight contests and are a league-worst 3-15 on the road. Miami starter Jacob Turner (0-1) yielded five runs (four earned) – all in the sixth inning – and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Turner kept the game scoreless through five innings, but Dee Gordon lined a two-base hit and Puig walked before both scored on the double by Ramirez into the left-field corner on a 3-2 pitch. Adrian Gonzalez followed with an RBI double and scored on Kemp’s single before a sacrifice fly by Justin Turner made it 5-0.

Miami’s Garrett Jones doubled to lead off the seventh, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on Marcell Ozuna’s sacrifice fly. Puig’s RBI double to deep center field restored the five-run lead in the bottom half of the seventh and Drew Butera singled home another in the eighth for Los Angeles.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami president of baseball operations Michael Hill announced Tuesday that RHP Jose Fernandez, the 2013 National League Rookie of the Year, has a ligament tear in his right elbow and the team has recommended Tommy John surgery. … Puig’s single in the fourth inning extended his hitting streak to 13 games on his bobblehead night in front of 50,349. … Dodgers C A.J. Ellis, out since undergoing arthroscopic left knee surgery in early April, took batting practice Tuesday and could be activated soon.
