Astros 8, Rangers 0: L.J. Hoes and Carlos Corporan each homered and drove in three runs to back Dallas Keuchel's first career shutout as Houston ended a string of 10 straight home losses to Texas.

Chris Carter had three hits and two runs, Jose Altuve doubled, tripled and scored twice and rookie George Springer added an RBI single and reached base four times as the Astros beat the Rangers for only the second time in 16 meetings. Keuchel (4-2) won his second straight start, scattering seven hits and striking out seven in his second career complete game.

Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison (1-1) lasted only 1 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on four hits before exiting with back stiffness. Prince Fielder had a pair of hits for Texas, which fell to 20-4 in its last 24 in Houston.

Hoes belted a two-run homer and Dexter Fowler singled home a run with two outs in the second to chase Harrison and bring on Justin Germano, who was pounded for five runs in 3 1/3 innings. Houston made it 4-0 when Altuve tripled and scored on Springer's single before breaking it open in the fifth.

Jesús Guzmán drew a leadoff walk, moved to third on Carter's double and scored on Hoes' infield single before Corporan cleared the bases with a blast into the upper deck in right to make it 8-0. Keuchel allowed a leadoff single in the ninth but wrapped up the shutout by getting Fielder to ground into a game-ending double play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Carter was hitless in 10 career at-bats against Harrison before a leadoff single in the second in front of Hoes' homer. ... Rangers SS Elvis Andrus singled in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. ... Astros RHP Jose Cisnero will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery next week while RHP Matt Albers, on the disabled list since April 22 with tendinitis in his pitching shoulder, had a cortisone shot and will not throw for 10 days.
