Mets 2, Rockies 0: Rookie Jacob deGrom struck out nine in a career-high eight scoreless innings as New York extended Colorado's miseries on the road.

DeGrom (8-6) scattered three hits and retired the final 14 batters he faced to improve to 7-1 over his last 10 starts. Curtis Granderson had a pair of hits with an RBI double and Juan Lagares also drove in a run as the Mets won for the sixth time in seven games.

Rookie Christian Bergman (2-3) took the hard-luck loss despite holding New York to two runs and six hits over six innings. Wilin Rosario and Nolan Arenado each doubled for the Rockies, who left the bases loaded in the ninth to fall to a major league-worst 20-51 away from home.

Matt den Dekker doubled with one out in the fifth, moved to third on deGrom's groundout and scored the game's first run on Lagares' line single to left field. New York pushed another two-out run across in the sixth inning on a single by d'Arnaud and Granderson's double to right to make it 2-0.

After Arenado doubled with one out in the fourth, the Rockies didn't put another runner aboard until loading the bases in the ninth against closer Jenrry Mejía on singles by Charlie Blackmon and Justin Morneau and a walk to Arenado. Josh Edgin came on to fan Corey Dickerson before Jeurys Familia retired Rosario on a groundout to earn his fifth save
