Pirates 5, Rockies 3: Andrew McCutchen broke a tie with an RBI single in the seventh inning as host Pittsburgh erased a three-run deficit to complete a three-game sweep of struggling Colorado.

Jordy Mercer drove in a pair of runs, Neil Walker homered in his second straight three-hit game and Jeanmar Gomez (2-2) earned the victory with one inning in relief of Jeff Locke, who yielded three runs in six frames. Mark Melancon pitched a perfect ninth for his 18th save as the Pirates won their sixth straight at home.

Josh Rutledge and ex-Pirate Michael McKenry homered for the Rockies, who have lost five straight and are 4-23 in their last 27 contests. Matt Belisle (2-6) allowed two runs in the seventh after rookie Tyler Matzek gave Colorado its third consecutive quality start by allowing three runs while striking out eight in six innings.

Brandon Barnes led off the game with a walk and Rutledge followed by belting a 1-2 pitch into the first row in left before McKenry delivered a solo shot to left on a 1-1 offering to begin the second. Pittsburgh trimmed the deficit to 3-2 when Gaby Sanchez and Walker led off the second with singles and scored on Mercer's hit.

Mercer walked with one out in the sixth and stole second before scoring on Chris Stewart's second ground-rule double of the contest to make it 3-3. Josh Harrison walked to begin the seventh, stole second and scored on McCutchen's single, and Walker followed by belting a 1-0 pitch out to center for his 14th homer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pittsburgh LF Starling Marte walked as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning, his first action since getting hit in the head by a pitch Friday. ... Colorado SS Troy Tulowitzki, who leads the majors with a .340 average, did not play and is day-to-day after leaving Saturday's game with what the Rockies said was a cramp in the muscle of his left tensor fascia latae - or hip flexor. ... Colorado OF Charlie Blackmon missed the contest after suffering an ankle injury during his final at-bat Saturday while Rockies 1B Justin Morneau missed his third consecutive game because of neck stiffness.
