Brewers 7, Rockies 4: Rickie Weeks, Aramis Ramirez and Scooter Gennett homered as Milwaukee took the opener of a four-game series from visiting Colorado.

Jonathan Lucroy drove in the tying run and Khris Davis knocked in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly for the Brewers, who have won eight of their last 11 games. Wily Peralta (9-5) allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings before three relievers bridged the gap to Francisco Rodriguez, who set down the side in the ninth for his 26th save.

Ryan Wheeler hit a grand slam for Colorado but Christian Friedrich (0-2) was knocked around for five runs on nine hits while striking out eight in four-plus innings. Justin Morneau doubled among two hits and Troy Tulowitzki reached base three times but the Rockies could not avoid a ninth loss in 10 games.

Milwaukee got to Friedrich in the first inning as Weeks led off the game and ripped the first pitch into the seats in left. Friedrich walked Ryan Braun but retired the next two batters before catching too much of the plate with an 0-2 fastball that Ramirez knocked into the seats in left for his 11th blast and a 3-0 lead.

Wheeler put Colorado in front with one swing in the fourth, when the Rockies loaded the bases with three singles before Wheeler sent a slider into the bullpen in right-center. The Brewers recovered in the fifth as Weeks led off with a double and scored on Lucroy’s single off the wall in center that chased Friedrich, and Davis’ fly scored Braun later in the frame.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Gennett, who hit a two-run blast as a pinch hitter in the eighth, has two homers and seven RBIs in the last two games. … Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado (fractured finger) took fielding practice and hit off a tee before the game. … Ramirez is 10-for-16 with three home runs in four games against the Rockies over the last seven days.
